Johnson, Neville Arthur Gull (Major, b.1896 - d.1979)
Photocopy of the typescript memoirs of Major Neville Arthur Gull Johnson, relating his experiences in WW1 and WW2. Major Johnson was a driver in the 3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance in WW1 and saw action in various parts of the Middle East including Beersheba. After being discharged on medical grounds, he served in the AMF including during WW2 when he administered Ordnance Depots and served with 15th Australian Works Company based in Queensland. Other duties included courts martial and orderly duties in hospitals. There are also photocopies of Major Johnson's discharge papers for both wars, some photographs of him alone and with other troops, and an official letter informing him of rights to retain rank and to wear uniform during retirement.
