Description

Crew members of the German Navy armoured cruiser SMS Blucher escaping down the side of the ship as it settles prior to sinking after Blucher had received the concentrated fire of the British battle cruiser squadron during the Battle of Dogger Bank. Survivors cling to the ship's hull. Two of her 8.2 inch gun turrets are trained outboard.
