Bakli Bay, Hainan Island. c. 28 August 1945. As Lieutenant Walker (left) of the US Office of Strategic Services and Japanese stand by, liberated Dutch prisoners of war (POWs) are being evacuated by trucks from the POW Camp. One the extreme right is a member of the Japanese Red Cross, wearing Red Cross armlet, may be seen. All Japanese Red Cross men on Hainan Island carried rifles.
