Laha, Ambon. 8 December 1945. A group of Japanese (middle foreground) await interrogation by the intelligence officer, 63rd Australian Infantry Battalion, just outside (to the east) of the headquarters building pictured in photograph No. 030388/10. The interrogations were being carried out in connection with the execution in 1942 of Australian and Dutch servicemen by the Japanese. The car (left) is pointing towards the track past the old Dutch garage and to Tawiri Village.
