Group portrait of members of D Company, 18th Battalion, taken at the Liverpool, NSW Army camp shortly before the troops embarked to take part in the First World War. Soon after this was taken, many of the troops were drafted into other battalions including the 17th, 19th and 20th. Of those who remained and sailed with the 18th Battalion on 25 June 1915, 23 died in the Battle of Hill 60 at Gallipoli on 22 August 1915.
