Melbourne, Vic. c. 1890. Portrait of Gunner (Gnr) (later Bombardier) Edward Charles Bradshaw, Victoria Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery (RAA). Gnr Bradshaw was a Non-Commissioned Officer with the RAA for over twelve years. During the First World War, 17944 Driver Edward Charles Bradshaw , 5th troop, 1 Field Squadron Engineers, Australian Mounted Division, enlisted on 31 March 1917, serving in Egypt, Sinai and Palestine. His diaries, which are held in the collections of the Research Centre at PR00790, contain first hand descriptions of many important operations including the battle at Beersheba. He returned to Australia in July 1919. (Donor B. Bradshaw)
