Description
An unidentified guest (centre), probably in a vice-regal position, arrives at an official function in Japan. He is dressed in ceremonial clothes and wearing an array of medals including a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) and an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). After stepping from his car, the official is being handed a plume by a man wearing a suit with tails, waistcoat and striped trousers. He is one of two members of the welcoming party who are using umbrellas to protect guests from the rain.
