Collection relating to the service of 432886 Edward Philip Telford Simpson
Description
Cape Gloucester, New Britain. 18 May 1944. An overturned Boomerang aircraft, serial no. A46-174, code name QE-Y of No. 4 (Tactical Reconnaissance) Squadron RAAF, after a landing accident. Flying Officer S. J. Bromhead, who was flying the aircraft at the time of the accident, was uninjured. Note the broken wheels on the ground beside the aircraft, and the damage to the wing on the right. (Donor P. Simpson)
