Cairo, Egypt. c. 1944. Two Army officers and a civilian official arrive for a reception in Cairo for repatriated AIF prisoners of war (POWs) from Germany. The repatriated POWs will soon be on board a ship bound for Australia. They were exchanged for German prisoners in our hands and travelled through Germany on a hospital train to Marseilles, there embarking on the sea voyage to Barcelona where the exchanges were effected under the auspices of a neutral.
