Description

A Sopwith Baby Sea Plane 110 hp single seater scout about to take off. Lifting brackets can be seen on the centre of the wing indicating that the plane was ship based, the seaplane-carriers operated in the North Sea and the Mediterranean. They also flew on fighter patrols from Dunkirk and in various Middle East campaigns until they were superseded by Sopwith Pups. See also A00679.
