Description
Egypt. 1941. Members of No 3 Squadron RAAF stopping for a meal while en route desert. Curly Morrison's (probably 32790 Aircraftman Class I J. A. Morrison) cookhouse truck is pulled into an old sandbagged gun emplacement. Numerous tins and crates are on the ground while the meal takes place. The car in the background is most likely a Lincoln Zephyr sedan in which 145 Squadron Leader (later Group Captain) Peter (Pete) Jeffrey DSO, DFC, the Commanding Officer, travelled in as part of the sixty six truck convoy which moved from Syria to Egypt after the Syrian Campaign.
