Description
A section of the wall in the postal area of the Orderly Room, Headquarters Battery. At one stage during the war, postmen in Australia were not delivering mail sent home by servicemen in Vietnam. Due to this, the poster above the mailbox marked NSW was produced. It reads: "Soldiers of Australia! Unite against PMG strike! Punch a postie on RTA (return to Australia) Sock it to 'em Diggers!". This sign caused an uproar after it found it's way into the hands of a postal clerk in Australia. On the wall next to the sign is a newspaper article about the `Punch a Postie' campaign. Under the mailbox marked Vic is a Snoopy cartoon, with the caption: "Encourage your dog to bite a postie".
