NSW. Paybook photograph of NX2448 Lance Sergeant Percy Gosper, 2/1st Battalion, Australian Infantry. Lance Sergeant Gosper, aged 42, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 23 May 1941. He was the son of Cyrus and Maud Gosper and the husband of Alice Mary Gosper, of North Sydney, NSW. He is buried in the Suda Bay Cemetery Section 5, Row A, Plot 14.
