NSW. Paybook photograph of NX2598 Corporal George Leslie Ryan Dudley, 2/1st Battalion, Australian Infantry. Corporal Dudley, aged 35, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 24 May 1941. He was the son of James Henry and Lydia Priscilla Dudley.
