NSW. Paybook photograph of NX2656 Lance Corporal Alexander Duncan Kaiatia MacPhee, 2/1st Battalion, Australian Infantry. Lance Corporal MacPhee, aged 35, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 20 May 1941. He was the son of Robert Duncan MacPhee and Margaret MacPhee, of Tailevu, Fiji. He is buried in the Suda Bay Cemetery Section 1, Row C, Plot 11.
