NSW. Paybook photograph of NX3852 Lance Corporal John Oriel Parker, 2/1st Battalion, Australian Infantry. Lance Corporal Parker, aged 22, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 21 May 1941. He was the son of Fredrick Thomas Husdon and Rita Husdon, and stepson of Guy Parker, of Sydney, NSW. He is buried in the Suda Bay Cemetery Section 1, Row B, Plot 18.
