NSW. Paybook photograph of NX3883 Corporal Frank Thomas Wood, 2/1st Battalion, Australian Infantry. Corporal Wood, aged 30, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 21 May 1941. He was the son of Thomas Frank and Isobel Wood, of North Curl Curl, NSW.
