NSW. Paybook photograph of NX4116 Private Edward John Webb, 2/1st Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Webb, aged 24, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 20 May 1941. He was the son of Horace Harcourt Webb and Ethel May Webb, of Balgowlah, NSW. He is buried in the Suda Bay Cemetery Section 1, Row C, Plot 20.
