NSW. Paybook photograph of NX11673 Private Henry Aspinall, 2/1st Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Aspinall, aged 28, died on 4 February 1943, as a Prisoner of War (POW), after being captured defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion. He was the son of john and Susie Aspinall, of unknown, unknown. He is buried in the Durnbach War Cemetery, Germany, Section 4, Row A, Plot 8.
