NSW. Paybook photograph of NX12793 Lance Bombardier William Francis Woodland, 2/3rd Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery. Lance Bombardier Woodland, aged 21, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 21 May 1941. He was the son of Reginald Raymond and Alma Winifred Woodland, of Kings Cross, NSW. He is buried in the Suda Bay Cemetery Section 5, Row A, Plot 8.
