NSW. 9 July 1940. Paybook photograph of NX46438 Private Samuel Theodore Jarrett, 2/1st Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Jarrett, aged 43, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 21 May 1941. He was the son of Samuel and Edith Jarrett, and the husband of Stella Jarrett, of Randwick, NSW. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 11.
