NSW. 15 July 1940. Paybook photograph of NX46736 Private Garvin George Perram, 2/1st Machine Gun Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Perram, aged 27, died on 30 July 1944, as a Prisoner of War (POW), after being captured on 30 Mat 1941, while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion. He was the son of Clements Edward Garvin and Doris Perram, of Glendon Brook, NSW. He is buried in the Cracow Rakowicki Cemetery, Poland, , Poland, Section 11, Row B, Plot 8.
