SA. Paybook photograph of SX1879 Private Edgar August Neindorf, 2/10th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Neindorf, aged 33, died on 22 May 1941, of wounds received at Maleme Airfield while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion. He was the son of Herman Gustav and Rebecca Lydia Neindorf. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 12. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency.
