Vic. Paybook photograph of VX12419 Private Andrew Bannockburn Gillespie, 2/8th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Gillespie, aged 26, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 21 May 1941. He was the son of James Peter and Minnie Gillespie.
