Vic. Paybook photograph of VX19850 Private Richard David Nicholson, 2/7th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Nicholson, aged 31, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 1 June 1941. He was the son of Alexander and Annie Nicholson, of Mulwala, NSW.
