Vic. Paybook photograph of VX20136 Private Harold Edward Piltz, 2/7th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Piltz, aged 34, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 1 June 1941. He was the son of Carl Gotthard Piltz and Emma Piltz, and the husband of Eliza Piltz, of Henty, NSW. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 11.
