Vic. Paybook photograph of VX25045 Sergeant Geoffrey Gilbert Edye Manning, 3rd Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery. Sergeant Manning, aged 36, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 20 May 1941. He was the son of Claude and Elsie Manning, and the husband of Jeane Ellis Manning, of South Yarra, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 10.
