Vic. Paybook photograph of VX35175 Gunner Bathurst Burns, 3rd Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery. Gunner Burns, aged 25, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 29 May 1941. He was the son of Bathurst Murray Burns and Julia Honora Burns, of Goroke, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 10. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency.
