WA. Paybook photograph of WX87 Gunner Roderick William Carrick, 2/3rd Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery. Gunner Carrick, aged 25, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 21 May 1941. He was the son of Reginald and Ruth Carrick, of Nedlands, WA.
