WA. Paybook photograph of WX581 Private Kenneth Myers Kroenert, 2/11th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Kroenert, aged 24, died on 15 November 1941, as a Prisoner of War (POW), after being captured defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion. He was the son of Carl August And Marie Elizabeth Kroenert, and the husband of Lily May Kroenert, of Victoria Park, WA.
