WA. Paybook photograph of WX798 Lieutenant Norman Ward Robertson Archer, 2/11th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Lieutenant Archer, aged 36, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 20 May 1941. He was the son of Thomas and Margaret Ann Archer.
