WA. Paybook photograph of WX837 Private Robert Muir, 2/11th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Muir, aged 34, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 24 May 1941. He was the son of William and Agnes Muir, of Dumfries, Scotland.
