WA. Paybook photograph of WX842 Private Colin John Elvy, 2/11th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Elvy, aged 24, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 27 May 1941. He was the son of John William and Anne Elizabeth Elvy, of Forrestfield, WA. He is buried in the Suda Bay Cemetery Section 5, Row C, Plot 12.
