WA. Paybook photograph of WX1004 Corporal John Thomas Arlidge, 2/11th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Corporal Arlidge, aged 25, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 24 May 1941. He was the son of Bertram and Carrie Arlidge, nephew of Ivy Craze, of West Perth, WA. He is buried in the Suda Bay Cemetery Section 1, Row E, Plot 16.
