WA. Paybook photograph of WX1013 Private Charles Brown, 2/11th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Brown, aged 36, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 27 May 1941. He was the son of William and Beatres Ethel Brown and the husband of Victoria Minnie Brown, of Wembley Park, WA. He is buried in the Suda Bay Cemetery Section 5, Row A, Plot 19.
