WA. Paybook photograph of WX1722 Private Colin Thomas McDonald, 2/11th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private McDonald, aged 24, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 28 May 1941. He was the son of Leslie Norman and Olive Mary McDonald, of Cottesloe, WA. He is buried in the Suda Bay Cemetery Section 1, Row E, Plot 6.
