WA. Paybook photograph of WX1753 Private Alban Raymond Carey, 2/11th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Carey, aged 33, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 1 June 1941. He was the son of Frederick F.
