Description

Hill 104, France. 29 April 1918. A view of Hill 104 photographed from Villers-Bretonneux. It was the crest of this hill that the Germans wrested from the exhausted British troops in the early morning of 24 April and from which they were driven the same night by the 13th and 15th Australian Brigades during the counter-attack by which the Australians recaptured Villers-Bretonneux, and drove back the enemy.
