Tsili Tsili, New Guinea. 5 September 1943. Captain Rose (extreme left) of the US Army, Jumpmaster of No. 2l plane, gives a final check to the equipment of NX138182 Lieutenant F. E. H. Ross; VX17843 Sergeant W. Murnane; and other members of 2/4th Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery who, with their 25 pounder guns, are being parachuted into Nadzab in support of American paratroops. The centre figure is VX17843 Sergeant W. Murnane.
