Collection relating to the service of Ernest Herbert Jones
Description
Informal portrait of 320 Corporal (Cpl) Ernest Herbert Jones, 1st Field Artillery Brigade, Army Medical Corps Detail, AIF, sitting on a washstand in Mena Camp. Inscribed with an original caption and addressed to Cpl Jones' father, William Ernest Jones. The print is inscribed, "A cooling refresher! Ablution places, Mena Camp... This shows the type of washstand we use on active service and also shows the decorations strewn about the walls and ceiling of the bathroom. I wish this to be kept as a record of how things were done in Egypt, otherwise I fear it has little or no interest."
