Description
An aerial view of the aircraft carrier HMAS Melbourne underway in the South China Sea with two Daring class destroyers alongside her. HMAS Voyager is on the starboard side of the flagship while HMAS Vendetta is on the port side of the carrier. Five Fairey Gannet anti-submarine aircraft are parked on the flight deck. Also taking part in this manoeuvre is an unidentified warship in station astern of HMAS Melbourne. HMAS Voyager was sunk in a collision with HMAS Melbourne on 10 February 1964 with the loss of 82 men.
