Description

A portrait of Lieutenant (Lt) Keith Murray, DSC, commanding officer of the Ton class minesweeper HMAS Teal. Lt Murray was the only RAN officer to have been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross in another campaign between the Korean War and the Vietnam War. His DSC was awarded during Confrontation for service in the sea areas of Malacca and the Singapore Straits during August and December 1964. His ship, HMAS Teal, on being fired on by an Indonesian raiding craft, responded against it firing its light weapons, and after the action, took the ship into Singaporean custody.
