Informal group portrait of the second Army wedding to be celebrated in New Guinea. Cutting the cake is the bride, formerly QX6486 Sister Alma Crudgington, from Rockhampton, Queensland, assisted by the bridegroom, SX10276 Sergeant Fergus George McDougall, from Mills Terrace, North Adelaide, South Australia. Standing to the left of the bride is the Commanding Officer of the hospital, VX11503 Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Hamill Green, CBE from Moonee Ponds, Victoria who gave the bride away, and at the far left is NX413 Matron Nellie Marshall from Sydney, NSW (later awarded Royal Red Cross First Class).
