Pakokku, Burma. c. April 1945. Air Marshal Sir Philip Joubert KCB CMG DSO, Deputy Chief of Staff, Information and Civil Affairs, made a tour of Burmese liberated cities to talk with local civil affairs officials, health and hospital authorities. He is standing with Sister Sarah Bwe of the Burmese Military Nursing Service (left), during a visit to a hospital at Pakokku, the third city of Burma, after its liberation from the Japanese.
