Description

The first draft of 46 RAN men to boost the Australian force in Vietnam has arrived in Saigon. Members of the RAN Helicopter Flight Vietnam (RANHFV), 1st Contingent, will work with the US Army's 135th Assault Helicopter Company, which has a primary role of supporting the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) in Phuoc Tuy Province. One of the first arrivals at Tan Son Nhut airport, Saigon is Leading Writer (LWTR) John Biggs (left), of Croyden Park, SA. He is being met by Petty Officer Keith Gardiner of Singleton, NSW, a member of Headquarters, Australian Force Vietnam (HQ AFV).
