Description

The RAN guided missile destroyer HMAS Perth (II) D38, is anchored in Vung Tau Harbour on Christmas Day. While the Perth is in Vung Tau Harbour, the captain has allowed several members of RAN and Australian Army units serving in Vietnam to board and share Christmas dinner with friends and family members. Here three 'bubblies' (divers) share stories of their experiences in Vietnam. Left to right: R94402 Able Seaman Clearance Diver (ABCD) Colin Lindsay (Cliff) Darling, of RAN Clearance Diving Team 3 (CDT 3) Vietnam; D93130 Leading Seaman Clearance Diver (LSCD) Henry Roy (Harry) Brankstone, of Bentley, WA, and of HMAS Perth; and R94851 ABCD Robert Harold Spicer, of RAN CDT 3 Vietnam.
