The Chief of the Australian Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral (Vice Adm) Sir Victor Smith (right), is on a six day visit to the war zone, meeting Australian personnel and visiting Allied bases. Here Vice Adm Smith receives a 'bird's eye view' of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) from the top of Nui Dat. Showing him the sights is Colonel Kevin Stuart McKenzie, of Newmarket, Qld, Deputy Commander of 1ATF. Vice Adm Smith's itinerary also includes visits to the 135th Assault Helicopter Company at Bearcat base, Bien Hoa Province, and two days with HMAS Brisbane and the US 7th Fleet in the South China Sea.
