R93186 Able Seaman (AB) Michael J Currie of Manjimup, WA inspects diving apparatus onboard the troop transport HMAS Sydney which was en route to Malaysia carrying Australian soldiers and equipment. A diving specialist, AB Currie later had two tours of duty in Vietnam. As a Leading Seaman, he served in Clearance Diving Team 3 (CDT 3) from 1967 to 1968. He returned to Vietnam as a Petty officer serving onboard the Daring class destroyer HMAS Vendetta from 1969 to 1970.
