Burma. c. December 1944. Fruit, bacon, jam, legs of hams, AJC grapefruit marmalade, rum, Bartlett pears, sweet potatoes, broad beans, eggplants, some of the Christmas supplies in tins and bags, flown into troops by RAAF aircrews serving on RAF Douglas C47 Dakota air transport Squadrons. Christmas messages painted on the bags include 'Father Xmas is coming' and "Happy Landing'.
