Burma. 2 March 1945. While the British 14th Army troops were advancing on Mandalay, which they captured, thousands of pounds of supplies were dropped to them by RAF Douglas C47 Dakota transport aircraft, many of them flown by RAAF aircrew. Supplies are being collected by Indian troops on the ground while others still float down by parachute.
